A nice original portrait made of glass paste or wax by James Tassie. The inscription on the truncation reads "Alex Waugh A.M. / Wells Street Lond. / 1794 / Tassie F." The frame is original to this portrait and measures about 6¾ x 8 inches tall. The portrait itself is 3 inches high. Excellent condition. Reverend Alexander Waugh (1754-1827) was a prominent Scottish Presbyterian minister and theologian.
