Narragansett Brewing Co. (New Depot Ave) (1933-1951), Providence, Rhode Island - The obverse is very nice the reverse has some crazing and wear., 12 inch tray, One of the more desirable beer trays out there. It features Chief Gansett a made-up Narragansett Indian Chief illustrated by Theodor Geisel aka: Dr. Seuss. The illustration is directly inspired by Hans Flato who worked with the Ruppert Brewery a generation earlier. Flato's squared curves are here as is his device of placing figures on platforms. Where Dr. Seuss departs is in movement. His platform has wheels and the Chief is racing on it to deliver a schooner of beer!, Grade 9
